OUR ATASEHIR SPORTS HALL

Rhythmic gymnastics is a captivating discipline that combines aesthetics, coordination, flexibility, and creativity. In this sport, each apparatus has its own specific techniques, dimensional standards, and maintenance guidelines. Using the right equipment—and storing it correctly—accelerates the athlete's development.

BALL

Rhythmic gymnastics balls require special care due to their delicate construction. They should be used exclusively on rhythmic gymnastics mats; use on other surfaces can lead to friction, scratches, and surface damage. Glitter models may shed glitter over time, while matte surfaces are more prone to scratching. Protect your ball from sudden temperature changes, do not leave it in a car trunk, and always transport it in its protective case. Failure to follow the correct instructions during inflation or deflation can result in valve failure or render the ball completely unusable.

Features

  • Tiny Tots and Juniors (ages 6–8): 16–18 cm, 300–350 g

  • Stars, Youths & Seniors (ages 9–17): 18–20 cm, 400–450 g

ROPE

Rhythmic gymnastics ropes are pieces of equipment that require controlled handling due to their flexible and lightweight nature. To preserve the rope's performance and longevity, it is recommended to use it only on suitable surfaces; hard or rough surfaces can cause abrasion, fiber breakage, and loss of shape. Before use, the rope's length should be adjusted to fit the athlete, and knots can be tied at the ends to facilitate gripping. Applying thin tape to the ends enhances grip comfort and improves the rope's visibility during movement. To prevent tangling or knotting, the rope should be coiled neatly for storage and kept away from damp or wet environments.

Features

  • When you step on the middle of the rope, the ends should not go above shoulder level.

  • It can be produced from hemp or synthetic materials.

  • Its diameter is generally in the range of 8–11 mm.

HOOP

Thanks to their lightweight and flexible structure, rhythmic gymnastics hoops are essential equipment for executing aesthetic and fluid movements. To maintain its shape, the hoop must be stored on a flat surface without any pressure applied to it; bending or warping can disrupt the hoop's balance and negatively affect performance. Covering the outer surface with colored tape can enhance impact resistance and provide an aesthetic appeal. Applying sports tape to the grip areas improves control and prevents slipping. Selecting the correct size is also crucial for performance; the hoop should reach the level of the upper leg but not exceed waist height.

Features

  • Young children (4–7 years): 60–70 cm

  • Stars (8–11 years): 75–85 cm

  • Youth (12–14 years): 70–89 cm

  • Seniors (15–17 years): 80–90 cm, at least 300 g

RIBBON

Rhythmic gymnastics ribbons are among the most striking pieces of equipment for fluid and aesthetic movements. Due to their lightweight and delicate nature, careful handling and proper storage are essential. An appropriate amount of fabric softener can be used to restore flexibility to ribbons that have stiffened over time. A small amount of clear nail polish can be applied to the ends to prevent fraying or unraveling. The ribbon should not be left wrapped around the stick for extended periods; instead, it should be stored separately and neatly to prevent creasing and loss of shape. The first 10 cm of the stick can be wrapped with sports tape to improve grip. To ensure longevity, the equipment should be kept away from humid environments and protected against rough handling or misuse.

Features

  • Small ones: 3–4 m

  • Stars: 4-5 m

  • Young trees: 5–6 m

  • Large: 6 m, minimum 35 g; rod length 50–60 cm

Rhythmic gymnastics clubs are precision instruments used in movements requiring balance, coordination, and synchronization. To maintain their durability, it is recommended that they be used only on suitable surfaces; use on hard or rough surfaces can cause cracking or surface damage upon impact. Exposure to extreme heat or cold can adversely affect the structure of the clubs, making them brittle. Covering the body and grip areas of the clubs with colored tape can enhance impact resistance and provide an aesthetic appeal. Especially when learning overhead rotation movements, practicing with lightly padded socks over the clubs is recommended to ensure safety. Selecting the correct size is important for performance; the size is suitable for the athlete if the club heads reach the level of the elbow.

Features

  • Small: 41 cm

  • Stars, Juniors, Seniors: 45 cm
